PROHIBITION OF INTEREST (RIBA) IN ISLAM – THE SOCIAL, MORAL AND ECONOMIC RATIONALE (PART I)Belief and faith to Allah (عقيدة)

Who are we? When the life start and will end?  What of the purpose from our creation?
When discussing these crucial questions, we, as a human being try our best to answer these questions. However, our limited idea cause these simple questions become questionable and leave without true answers. It is because; we cannot pull our self to give the answer where we are not able to answer it. Some people make a simple judgment, when they say that life start when the mother gives a birth to her baby and will end only when they are dying. Life is nothing except only to survive. They do not believe that the life after death. Then, some others say opposite from the first view. They believe what is previous, present and next. They may are called as “Muslim”.

Who is Muslim?
A person who believes in and consciously follows Islam is called a Muslim, also from the same root word. So, the religion is called "Islam," and a person who believes in and follows it is a "Muslim."[1]

What is Islam?
The name of the religion is Islam, which comes from an Arabic root word meaning "peace" and "submission." Islam teaches that one can only find peace in one's life by submitting to Almighty God (Allah) in heart, soul and deed. The same Arabic root word gives us "Salaam alaykum," ("Peace be with you"), the universal Muslim greeting.[2]
Who is Allah?
Allah is the proper name for Almighty God, and is often translated merely as "God." Allah has other names that are used to describe His characteristics: the Creator, the Sustainer, the Merciful, the Compassionate, etc.
Muslims believe that since Allah alone is the Creator, it is He alone that deserves our devout love and worship. Islam holds to a strict monotheism. Any worship and prayers directed at saints, prophets, other human beings or nature is considered idolatry.[3]

Trying to answer the question
When we had faced up with all these questions which we are unable to answer it, Allah mentioned in Holy Quran, in Surah An-Nahl verse 78, "And Allah (SWT) has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you know nothing. And He gave you hearing, sight and hearts that you might give thanks (to Allah SWT)."
Allah SWT is the Almighty, Creator and Sustainer of the Universe, who is similar to nothing and nothing is comparable to Him.[4] This He explicitly states in the Qur'an in Surah Ash-Syura verse 11
"(He is) the Creator of the heavens and the Earth: He has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle; by this means does He multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto Him, and He is the One that hears and sees (all things).”
In addition, Allah also mentioned in Surah Al-Hajj verse 1,  “O mankind! Fear your Lord! For the convulsion of the Hour (of Judgment) will be a thing terrible!”
Surah Al-Hadid verse 20 then Allah mentioned that, “Know you (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children. Here is a similitude: how rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; you will see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong). And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception?”
So that, all of these verses wake us up for answering those question. Life is never end when we die. There is a true life after death that Allah had promised to us. He had prepared the best destination for those belief and faith to Him. He promises to grant heaven and live there forever.

Why Allah is only one God that we need to obey?
Imagine, what will happened if there are too many person who administer the company? They may come with difference views when they want to have a unanimous decision. If they had confirmed with the unanimous decision, some of them may feel dissatisfied and envy toward another.
Same goes to this question. If we have many God, we cannot satisfy every single of Them. Or we may not be able to live in peace since we need to obey them, bestow them, and worship them. So, every minute in our life had filled with it. Then, we will die in starving for satisfy them as our gods.
Allah is one and only God. It had been stated in Holy Quran in Surah Al-Ikhlas verses 1-4 “Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; (1) Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; (2) He begets not, nor is He begotten; (3) And there is none like unto Him; (4)”
That is a simplest way to understand, why Allah is only one that we need to admit. He creates everything and He knows His creation need well rather than other. It is sufficient to obey to Him only.[5]
Also in Surah Al-An’aam verses 162 and 163 mentioned “Truly, my prayer and my service of sacrifice, my life and my death, are (all) for Allah, the Cherisher of the Worlds; (162) No partner has He: this am I commanded, and I am the first of those who bow to His Will”

Conclusion
To sum up, we MUST put the belief and faith to Allah. He creates us, so He is only one that qualified to being serving for our entire life. He knows everything, while we know nothing unless very a little from His knowledges.
